MISSION STATEMENT
Mount Snow Academy seeks to create a group of young people and adults who, together, respect individual talent, responsibility, academic curiosity, and athletic development in a comprehensive learning environment. Students are encouraged to reach their highest potential in academic and athletic achievement.
OBJECTIVES
Using the one-on-one teaching model promotes responsibility, as well as academic curiosity. This enables students to concentrate on academic subjects in much greater depth than would be possible in a multi-student classroom and allows the student and teacher to develop an important scholarly relationship.
By retaining the small ratio of teacher and coach to student, much emphasis is placed on character development. The environment at Mount Snow Academy allows a deep understanding of each individual to develop. Working together in the classroom, team and living situations builds a bond that can be used to encourage leadership, responsibility and to enhance potential growth.
Professional coaches, who emphasize individual attention on the mountain, encourage respect for the individual’s strengths and talents, assures progress and allows the coaching team to deal with any limitations quickly, turning them into strengths.
By implementing a comprehensive, integrated physical program, including dry land as well as competitive alpine, snowboard and freestyle disciplines, our staff instills the student/athlete’s confidence and self-assurance while building healthy bodies and minds.
