Three J3s qualified for State Championships: Alva Swing who placed fourth in Super G, as well as Andrew Sherras and Sarah Reilly. Alva Swing also qualified for the J3 Olympics and took third in the Vermont Cup Finals.
Three MSA students made the top ten in the competitive Southern Vermont Council rankings. In the J4 group, Eli Swing was ranked first, followed by Richard Sherras in fourth position and Sam Cusick in fifth.
Four MSA athletes qualified for the J4 State Championships. Eli Swing went on to take the fourth position overall, while teammates Richard Sherras , Sam Cusick, and Tommaso Auerbach also competed.
J4 Eli Swing qualified for the elite Future Stars training program, where he placed first in the giant slalom. He went on to qualify for and compete in the Second Annual Can/Am , which brought together thirty top US skiers and thirty top Canadians to train and compete. Swing placed first in giant slalom.
Brothers Andrew and Richard Sherras competed in the USSA J3/J4 Open, where Andrew Sherras took the third slot and Richard took fifth. They also competed in the Scottish Children’s Races and the British Children’s Championships, both of which were held in France.
J2 skier Ian Wolff qualified for the Eastern Championships. He also took first in his age group at the VARA Vermont Cup Finals, and first among J2s at the ‘World’s Best Skier’ competition.
Snowboard
Jessica Gibson placed second in slope style at the Revolution Tour at Mount Snow.
Many of the MSA snowboarders ranked in the top ten of the Southern Vermont Regional Series rankings.
- In Breaker Girls, Noelle Edwards ranked first in pipe, boardercross, slalom, giant slalom, and second in slope.
- In the men’s Youth Division, Codey Ellison first in pipe and second in slope and Mait Ianiri came in eighth in pipe.
- In the women’s Youth Division, Jessica Gibson placed first in pipe and third in slope.
- In the men’s Junior Division, Wyatt Mosher ranked first in pipe and second in slope. Austin Schweyher ranked first in slope and third in pipe. DJ Torroni ranked eighth in pipe and ninth in slope, nd Jordan Saccoccie ranked sixth in slope and ninth in pipe.
- In the women’s Junior Division, Allie Kaplan ranked second in pipe and third in slope.
Seven MSA boarders went on the qualify for the USASA National Championships at Copper Mountain, Colorado.
- Noelle Edwards took second in giant slalom, third in pipe, fourth in boardercross, fifth in slope, and sixth in slalom in her division, placing second overall.
- Jessica Gibson took second in both pipe and slope in her division.
- DJ Torroni qualified in five events, and finished second overall.
- Austin Schweyher took second in pipe in his age bracket.
- Codey Ellison placed fifth in slope and sixth in pipe in his division,, as well as taking the award for BestTrick.
- Wyatt Mosher qualified in several events but was unable to compete due to an injury, and Allie Kaplan also qualified and competed.
Two boarders, Jessica Gibson and Noelle Edwards, were invited to be part of the elite Project Gold Juniors program held at Mammoth Mountain in California.
Dillon Wilson won the amateur division of the Main Event series finals.
